Park Avenue Cafe was established in the fall of 1984
Denise Nicks was manager with her son Chris and daughter Kim and the name of
the restaurant was "Donshirs" and was owned by John A.W. Nicks when
Bill Hardesty bought the business from John A.W. Nicks in 1984.
Bill Hardesty, a Realtor, soon learned that he didn't know how to run
a restaurant and, fortunately, was blessed with Denise, Chris and Kim coming
back to help him succeed. They lived on Pearl Avenue
and didn't have far to go to work. Denise' mother owned
and operated a restaurant in South Africa and Denise
had many ideas and recipes that she wanted to provide
for our clientele.
